The Soldier - A play based on the life of Rupert Brooke
This captivating play by award-winning playwright Rachel Wagstaff is inspired by the life of WW1 poet (and Rugby School alumni) Rupert Brooke.
The play's action moves between London at the outbreak of WW1, Belgium and the Aegean where Brooke died on his way to fight in the Gallipoli campaign, finding his resting place on the Greek island of Skyros. It is produced by MESH Theatre whose acclaimed Journey's End just completed its 3rd successive run on the battlefields of Flanders, commemorating the Centenary of Armistice.
