Meet your Rugby Town Guide: Rhona Milner

Rhona Milner Rugby Guide

Tell us a bit about yourself: I'm a serial volunteerer! A retiree who enjoys getting involved in a wide range of activities which are beneficial to the wider community. I'm a proud Northerner and, even better, born a Yorkshire person - I always tell people that I was sent from the north as a missionary!

How long have you lived in Rugby? Forty three or so years.

What's your favourite thing about being a Rugby Town Guide? Meeting and talking with our visitors and sharing our town and its sites, history and highlights. Learning new information from long-time Rugby residents.

Why is Rugby such a special and unique place? All towns/habitations are special, however Rugby can lay claim to some really significant developments. Rugby School and Thomas Arnold for example, laying the foundations to modern education, that's apart from the more obvious claim to fame... The industrial heritage is also fascinating.

Tell us a little-known fact about Rugby: We have spawned at least four other Rugbys around the world.

Tell us a little-known fact about yourself: I have an irrational fear of bats.
