Teracotta Celebrates 25 Years in Rugby Town Centre
Terracotta, the women’s fashion shop, celebrated twenty-five years trading in Rugby town centre at the weekend with champagne and cake.
The women’s fashion shop is one of the longest established independent businesses in Rugby.
The original store opened for business on the 17 April 1993 on Chapel Street (the oldest shop in town) and moved to its current premises on Bank Street six years ago when it needed bigger premises as the business grew. The shop sells women’s wear, accessories and lifestyle products.
Owner and director of Terracotta, Mrs Diane Griffith, opened the business because of her love of fashion and when she spotted a gap in the market for quality womenswear with more of a boutique feel rather than a chain store.
Diane said: “Over the past twenty-five years people’s shopping habits have changed and more people are shopping online (when we first opened there was no internet shopping). We have stood the test of time because of our reputation for excellent service, quality merchandise and ability to change with the times we are in. Being original with our ideas and always engaging with customers has also played a big part.”
Aftab Gaffar, Managing Director of Rugby First said: “There is no doubt in my mind that Terracotta’s success is built upon quality products and outstanding service, and always going the extra mile for the customer. I wish them all the best for the next twenty-five years.”
