Paul Coldwell worked with Paula Rego on all her etchings between 1987-2006 including the Nursery Rhymes, Peter Pan and the Abortion prints and continued their friendship until her passing in 2022. This illustrated talk focuses on the role of printmaking within Rego’s overall practice and offers a unique insight, gleaned from such a close working relationship, into how these prints came into being. The talk will explore broad themes around Rego’s prints including, her relationship to graphic traditions, her changing working methods and the importance she placed on her prints.

Y E Club is a fun and educational STEM activity introducing children to engineering through LEGO and hands-on building. Children explore how things work while learning about gears, wheels, forces, movement, energy, structures and mechanisms.

Through exciting engineering challenges, they experiment, solve problems, learn from mistakes and improve their designs. The club develops creativity, confidence, teamwork and problem-solving skills, while encouraging children to think like young engineers.

Workshops take place every Saturday in September, between 15:00-16:15.

Chess Club is a relaxed and friendly space for people to enjoy the timeless game of strategy with the help of our friendly volunteer, James. Whether you’re a seasoned player or just starting out, come along to meet others, play, and improve your skills.

Session format:

• 1:00–2:00pm: Free play
• 2:00–3:00pm: Tutor support available from James
