Bikefest
One of Rugby’s best, biggest and most-loved events – Rugby Bikefest – will be returning to Rugby town centre on Sunday 17 May, between 10.30am and 4pm!
The supercharged, free family bike friendly festival, organised by Rugby Borough Council in conjunction with local motorcycling groups, will see hundreds of bikes roar into the town centre as part of this high octane fun fuelled event!
Bike enthusiast or not there’s no shortage of entertainment for everyone – a super cool ride-in, stunning bike displays, stalls, fantastic live music, family entertainment, a funfair, food, arena displays and even a few cars thrown in for good measure!
One thing you don’t want to miss on the day is the ‘Ride-in’ where hundreds of bikes cruise into the town centre, creating a cacophony of noise, colour and gleaming splendour.

‘Celebrating the works of Muthuswami Dhikshitar on his 250th Birth Anniversary’ – a lecture demonstration bu Dr. Padmanabhan Shakkotai
‘The Magic of Mohiniattam’ – a traditional dance performance by Smt. Rashmi Sudhir and Smt. Remya Nambiar
‘Meet and Greet your Luthier’ – Libby Summers from Stamford Strings introduces us to the world of violin making (in Committee room)
‘East meets West’ – a fusion percussion combining the Indian percussion artists’ with Mr. Jono Guinness on the digeridoo

The performances take place across a series of sessions from 10am to 4.30pm on Saturday (May 23) at the Dunchurch Sportsfield and Village Hall.
The luthier meet and greet takes place from 2pm to 3.30pm at the Village Hall community room.
Crick Boat Show
As well as being the canal world’s largest marketplace, showcasing the inland waterways industry with over 200 exhibitors, Crick Boat Show offers visitors dozens of boats to view, free boat trips, free entry for kids under 16, free parking, live music, children’s activities, a real ale and cider festival and a wide variety of food stalls.
Diwali Celebration
Rugby’s much-loved Diwali celebration, also known as the Festival of Lights, is returning to Rugby town centre on Sunday 1 November, and organisers are inviting local communities, organisations, stallholders and performers to get involved.
The celebrations will take place from 2pm to 7pm across Market Place and the Asda car park, in front of the Swan Centre.
Diwali is a five-day Festival of Lights celebrated by millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains around the world. It represents new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness, while for some communities it also marks harvest and New Year celebrations. The festival takes place between October and November each year, with the exact date changing according to the lunar Hindu calendar.
Would you like to be part of Rugby’s Diwali celebrations? Organisers are looking for stallholders, performers, community groups and organisations to get involved. Local businesses can also take part by running a special promotion during the event.
